I'm back!

Yes, I'm back - did you miss me?  Would love to be able to tell you all about my exotic vacation on a tropical island - but alas, I've really been "here" all the time. Real life took the front seat...as it always should.

The last few months I have been busy volunteering at and for my daughters school.  Teaching an art class for the sixth graders, managing the school yearbook and getting that to press, working on the sixth grade graduation and reception.  It's been bittersweet to say goodbye to a school we have been a part of for 14 years - but I can cheerfully say, I am so glad summer is here!

With a plan and a set of templates - a digi-scrapper can do most anything!  I have officially brought my Project 365 pages current - finishing 14 weekly layouts this weekend!   Here is a peek at week 22....(and you can see the rest of the layouts here)   It felt wonderful to add so many pages into my "to be printed" folder.

Even though I did not work on the monthly prompts - I still found JOY in my One Little Word.  The Art Journal Caravan continued on its journey - but I look forward to "visiting" and "exploring" each of the countries that I missed in the coming weeks.  I continued to create my Zentangle Inspired Art and even worked on a few other crafty projects.  I'll be sharing all of this and more with you in the coming days.

In the meantime - winter is over (finally) Summer officially starts in a few weeks (though it feels as if it is here now)  I am loving the weather and enjoying time with my family.

Life is good.....enjoy every moment!

Arrived in Japan!

At the beginning of March, the Art Journal Caravan left the beautiful and romantic country of France and traveled to Japan - which I am finding is just as fabulous and intriguing as the first two countries we visited. Tangie Baxter continues to provide prompts and travel information that are above and  beyond most travel guides.  (though I continue to hold my option to return to both France and the UK for a little inspiration if the 'art journal' spirit moves me)

I hope to explore the Land of the Rising Sun a bit more this weekend.  Like any vacation and journey - the time seems to fly by much too quickly.

Praying that you continue to find joy in the blessings that surround you.  Extra hugs....

France is Magnifique!

The Art Journal Caravan is moving forward - if you recall, we visited the UK in January and continued the journey in February into nearby France. The caravan has moved on but I am enjoying myself in France and would like to explore Paris just a wee bit more before I continue on to our March destination .....Japan!

I love the prompts that Tangie Baxter (our tour guide) provides every week.  These are just a few of the ones I seem to be embracing.

I Am.....(comparing yourself to the word phrase or idea provided and creating a poem  metaphor or phrase about yourself.)

Quotes from famous artists, authors, celebrities or other persons from our current country

Literature and folklore from our current country

And my favorite - Poetic License - using 12 randomly selected words/phrases (from a bank of over 400) This is challenging to say the least - and I love a challenge.

a new prompt each week (can also be our word for the week)

Charming (my Prince Charming...)

Question (my youngest is always asking questions - her most frequent ones are "what's the plan" and "what are we doing the day after tomorrow")

You can find my previous pages from the Art Journal Caravan right here.  It's never too late to join the fun.  Want to learn more? Head over to www.artjournalcaravan.com - HERE.

Loving the JOY that Art Journaling brings into my life! What brings YOU joy?
